President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdulahi Farmajo on Sunday attended the occasion of 58 anniversary of 1st July, Independence Day when southern regions of Somalia took freedom from Italia protectorate and unity of southern, northern regions of Somalia, SONNA reported.
Very colorful occasion of this celebration was held at local Government House in Mogadishu, in attendance with Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Ali Kheyre and ministers, members of the both houses of Parliament, diplomats and other dignitaries last night.
“The Freedom we are enjoying, has been costly and with more bloodshed to Somalia’s founding fathers, we are on success that began from 1960 when northern and southern regions joined together”, The President said.
The President urged people to be united and compatriots defending their country from the enemy.
The Somali National Flag was raised mid last night at the local Government’s local House after the event came to an end and with bonfire there according to SONNA.
